Yesterday's fun freewheel at the football stadium event was great fun!

There was a vast array of bikes to try out from folding bikes to electric bikes to an assortment of adapted bikes by Quest 88. Plus rickshaw rides around the football pitch by Rickshaw Phil. The football stadium car park was a perfect place to have a go on a new type of bike and just sloping enough to get a bit of help from the electric bikes.
About 25 children received cycle training, two of whom were able to take off their stabilizers by the end of the day, which makes the whole day worth while!
The local policing team security marked about 60 bikes, an equal number of smoothies were made on our smoothie bike and Dr Bike serviced lots of bikes.
The event ended with the grand launch of our new cycle ride leaflet exploring the history of Shrewsbury Town Football Club. This season's lead goal scorer Dave Hibbert was joined by team mate Kelvin Langmead and Jon Harris, the club's General Manager, to launch the ride. The players tried out bikes from local shops, Dave Mellor and Stan Jones, and Jon Harris took a ride by the pitch in the rickshaw. The ride starts at the Prostar Stadium and takes in 5 of STFC's former grounds. Download the ride leaflet.
I'd like to thank everyone who came along to help on the day: bike shops Dave Mellor, Stan Jones, On-Bike and Quest 88; our Dr Bike from Go Cycling; Rickshaw Phil; the Shropshire Council cycle trainers; the police and everyone at Shrewsbury Town Football Club for contributing to such an enjoyable day.
You can see more photos of this event in our events photo gallery. There's also a great article about the event on STFC's website.
