Welsh Bridge

A number of improvements to cycle and walking routes between Shrewsbury town centre and the north west of Shrewsbury are proposed as part of Shrewsbury's Connect2 scheme.

Consultation

Following a consultation held in November/December 2009, Shropshire Council drew up a revised plan for the Welsh Bridge junction, taking into account the comments received during the consultation process.

You can download a PDF version of the revised plan and consultation summary report here:

Welsh Bridge - revised plan following comments

The revised plan was approved by the Central Planning Committee on Thursday 14 January 2010.

Construction

The recent explosion in Bridge Street damaged much of the existing signal infrastructure nearby. Therefore construction work has started early on this project and will continue from February to April 2010.
